Cherry NECTA™ works by reinforcing skin barrier lipids and boosting hydration for improved skin comfort, softness and resilience. In an independent in vivo Irritation & Regeneration study, changes in TEWL were after daily skin washing with a SLES solution. Cherry NECTA™ at 1% and 3% improved skin barrier function, reducing TEWL compared to the placebo as well as reducing visible redness. This suggests enhanced skin hydration and support for epidermal regeneration, following mild irritation from washing.

Cherry NECTA™ contains a relatively high unsaponifiable fraction for a plant oil including skin-protecting phytosterols. These exhibit anti-inflammatory activity, support barrier recovery and contribute to lamellar lipid organisation and barrier resilience when present alongside fatty acids.
